Los nombres de Nicol\u00e1s Ortega (22) y Nicol\u00e1s Sep\u00falveda (22), estudiantes de cuarto a\u00f1o de ingenier\u00eda civil Aeroespacial ya figuran, en la p\u00e1gina web del Proyecto Asclepios, como integrantes de su equipo cient\u00edfico, el mismo en el que participa la joven Tatiana L\u00f3pez, para convertirse en la primera astronauta an\u00e1loga chilena.<\/p>\n

Y es que estos compa\u00f1eros de carrera y amigos, decidieron postular a Asclepios y medir tanto sus conocimientos como capacidades, siendo su principal motivaci\u00f3n el hacer cosas distintas, innovadoras y que est\u00e9n estrechamente relacionadas con un tema que los apasiona: el espacio.<\/p>\n

El proyecto Asclepios es un programa de misiones anal\u00f3gicas dise\u00f1ado por estudiantes para estudiantes, bajo la tutela de profesionales capacitados.\u00a0Este proyecto interdisciplinario une a estudiantes y cient\u00edficos de todo el mundo para lograr un objetivo com\u00fan: realizar con \u00e9xito misiones espaciales \u00abh\u00e1galo usted mismo\u00bb.\u00a0Busca simular misiones espaciales a corto plazo en otro cuerpo celeste, como la Luna o Marte, allanando as\u00ed el camino a la futura exploraci\u00f3n espacial del sistema solar. Fue creado por la organizaci\u00f3n sin fines de lucro Sapce@ your service, reconocida por la \u00c9cole polytechnique f\u00e9d\u00e9rale de Lausanne, Suiza con el objetivo promover y popularizar las ciencias espaciales: astrof\u00edsica, ingenier\u00eda espacial y astronom\u00eda.<\/p>\n

\u201cA\u00daN NO LO PODEMOS CREER\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cEl proceso fue un poco diferente al de Tatiana L\u00f3pez, porque ella postul\u00f3 para convertirse en astronauta an\u00e1loga de la Misi\u00f3n Asclepios II\u00a0y con Nicol\u00e1s Sep\u00falveda ingresamos para formar parte del equipo de trabajo de Asclepios. Somos amigos los tres y sab\u00eda de la misi\u00f3n, est\u00e1bamos s\u00faper motivados con la experiencia de nuestra compa\u00f1era, vimos el anuncio y postul\u00e9, no ten\u00eda nada de perder<\/strong>\u201d cuenta, Nicol\u00e1s Ortega, respecto a c\u00f3mo ha vivido su incorporaci\u00f3n a esta iniciativa internacional. \u201cEnvi\u00e9 la postulaci\u00f3n a los cargos que me interesaban, con datos respecto a mis estudios e intereses; me preguntaron hasta mi nave espacial favorita<\/strong>\u201d, puntualiza.<\/p>\n

Los l\u00edderes de los equipos a los que postularon estudiaron sus perfiles y finalmente Nicol\u00e1s Ortega, qued\u00f3 en el cargo que solicit\u00f3, Oficial de Dise\u00f1o Cient\u00edfico, del \u00c1rea de Sistemas, destinado a ensamblar todos los experimentos. \u201cMe peguntaron por mi experiencia en software\u00a0de dise\u00f1o 3D, cu\u00e1les eran mis enfoques y qu\u00e9 me gustar\u00eda hacer en la misi\u00f3n<\/strong>\u201d, explica el joven.<\/p>\n

\u201cEsta experiencia es genial, los contactos que uno tiene son impensados, por ejemplo hemos tenido clases o capacitaciones con astronautas, con Claude Nicollier, \u00a0el primer astronauta suizo; ahora vamos a tener una master class con Paolo Ferri, quien fue Director de Operaciones de Naves Espaciales (SOM) de Rosetta y ahora es el Jefe de Operaciones de Misi\u00f3n de la ESA en el Centro Europeo de Operaciones Espaciales, ESOC, Darmstadt, Alemania, pura gente genial\u00a0 y tenemos contacto con universidades en Tokyo, S\u00eddney, Estados Unidos, en el MIT, entonces las redes son fant\u00e1sticas, a\u00fan no lo terminamos de creer<\/strong>\u201d, destaca Ortega.<\/p>\n

ESTAR ATENTOS PARA VER QU\u00c9 HAY<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nicol\u00e1s Sep\u00falveda cuenta que siempre le ha interesado la investigaci\u00f3n, desarrollar tecnolog\u00eda, experimentar cosas nuevas, \u201cpor eso ten\u00eda un trasfondo de motivaci\u00f3n para ser parte de esta instancia. Tambi\u00e9n para probar si ten\u00edamos la capacidad de poder integrar un proyecto de este tipo y bueno, aqu\u00ed estamos trabajando<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

El futuro ingeniero aeroespacial fue incorporado al proyecto Asclepios como Asistente al Equipo Cient\u00edfico \u201ctrabajo en lo administrativo, en la revisi\u00f3n de documentos, procedimientos, y tambi\u00e9n en las minutas y reuniones<\/strong>\u201d, cuenta.<\/p>\n

Uno de los aspectos que destaca Nicol\u00e1s Sep\u00falveda es el conocimiento entregado en la carrera, pero adem\u00e1s menciona la asignatura\u00a0Fundamentos de la Ingenier\u00eda de Sistemas Espaciales<\/em>, que dicta el docente, Alejando L\u00f3pez, \u201cme ha servido mucho en la visi\u00f3n de trabajar en un proyecto complejo, multidisciplinario, porque involucra periodismo financiero, pol\u00edtico, es algo que obliga\u00a0a traducir los conocimientos de las otras \u00e1reas a la tuya y viceversa. As\u00ed como tambi\u00e9n\u00a0los conceptos b\u00e1sicos de distintas \u00e1reas como electr\u00f3nica, f\u00edsica, termodin\u00e1mica, para entender, a grandes rasgos, y posteriormente traducir los requerimientos y necesidades que ellos tengan en soluciones que podamos proveer a la gente que est\u00e1 haciendo los experimentos, para llevarlos a cabo en la misi\u00f3n<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

Sep\u00falveda especifica que la misi\u00f3n Asclepios es una de las primeras de este tipo, hecha por estudiantes, a futuro puede que se abran m\u00e1s puertas, pero eso depende de cada persona y de sus motivaciones. El universitario explica que, como estudiante, es importante averiguar respecto a iniciativas en las que puedan participar y probar suerte, \u201cuno tiene que buscar alrededor y estar atento para ver qu\u00e9 hay<\/strong>\u201d, especific\u00f3.<\/p>\n
